The 16th Annual Show & Shine was one for the record books, with a record-breaking 68 vehicles registered for this year’s event. Although the day began under cloudy skies with rain threatening, the weather soon turned in our favour. By afternoon, the clouds had cleared, the sun was shining, and visitors enjoyed a beautiful summer day exploring an impressive collection of classic cars, trucks, tractors, motorcycles, and specialty vehicles.

- Lyle Billeter was the recipient of the Local Legend Award for his 1957 Cockshutt 40 Deluxe, recognizing Lyle’s longtime support of the Porcupine Plain Show & Shine.
The event offered something for everyone. Families enjoyed the Kids Zone, featuring a Cars-themed inflatable from Go Bounce & Beyond and face painting by Younique Faces. DJ Sonny provided music throughout the afternoon, while the Filipino food booth proved to be a crowd favourite once again. Visitors also enjoyed shopping the outdoor market, which featured Bell’s Coffee Truck, CJ’s Epicure, HD 3D Printing, Marcella’s gluten-free baking, jewellery by Rachel, Carrie-Lynn’s custom designs, and the Prayer Baptist Church prayer tent. Congratulations are also extended to The Alamo Café on its successful soft opening and to BoHo Snipz Salon for hosting a sidewalk sale during the festivities.
The annual 50/50 draw raised funds for Chase Place Arena. Congratulations to Mo Chislett, who took home the winning prize of $720, with the remaining proceeds benefiting the arena.
Following the car show, the Economic Development Committee also treated families to a Free Swim & Freezies at the Larwood-Shaw
Memorial Pool, offering a welcome way to cool off after a hot afternoon.
