Seasonal – Full-Time & Part-time Positions Available
Larwood-Shaw Memorial Pool (LSMP) is now accepting applications for the positions of Lifeguard, Lifeguard/Swim Instructor, and Assistant Lifeguard. Our goal is to build an energetic, positive, reliable team with a focus on patron safety, community engagement, teamwork and continuous improvement of our aquatic program. Our pool operates from mid-June to the end of August.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate(s) will work a variety of shifts at our outdoor facility, including weekends, early mornings, and evenings. The candidate(s) will be responsible for:
● Supervising swimming and other pool related activities;
● Teaching swimming lessons (instructors);
● Enforcing pool rules and guidelines to ensure the safety of everyone;
● Monitoring the pool and deck for safety hazards, including putting away equipment, and cleaning;
● Reporting and documenting any incidents that occur while on duty;
● Administering first-aid and life-saving actions in the event of an emergency;
● Cashier duties;
● Daily open and close procedures, including cleaning and upkeep of the facility
Requirements: Applicants must be at least 14 years of age and provide proof of the following current certifications (dependant upon position being applied for):
● Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Award;
● Swim for Life Instructor Award;
● Standard First Aid and CPR-C;
● Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check
Wage Range: Dependant upon qualifications and experience
● Lifeguard – $18-$22/hr
● Lifeguard/Swim Instructor – $20-$24/hr
● Assistant Lifeguard – $16-$18/hr
